What is a Career Trek?
Career Treks are career related field trips organized through each of the 12 member high school’s Career Advisors. The trips are supervised and take place during the school day.
What is a Job Shadow?
Career Shadows are a one-on-one career exploration with a professional. Career Advisors make initial contact with the host company. Students are not accompanied on these visits and, therefore, it is NOT a field trip and Rolling Meadows does NOT provide transportation.Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the work site. Since most Job Shadows are scheduled during the school day, both parent and teacher permission is required. Shadow applicants must demonstrate maturity, knowledge of the industry and previous career exploration experience.

Can you help?
Willing parents and community members are essential to the success of the Career Advisory Program. Do you have an interesting job? Do you work for a company who might be willing to host a career oriented student visit? Contact me to discuss the possibility of sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm with our students. The experience will be rewarding for you as well Rolling Meadows's youth!
